The right to food is a human right. It protects the right of all human beings to live in dignity, free from hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition. The right to food is not about charity, but about ensuring that all people have the capacity to feed themselves in dignity.

Eradicating extreme poverty by 2015 is the number one goal on the list of millennium development goals which the United Nations Member States have pledged. One of the surest ways to fight poverty in Nigeria is to promote skills development especially in the area of agriculture, by so doing, the ability of the unemployed youths to raise their income will be increased. In order words, youths who represent the social economic engine in any good Nation should be targeted, trained and empowered.

In the light of the above, we have selected five States in Nigeria to train a minimum of 200 persons in each Local Government council and give them grants to start their farms. For group or individual participation, you may wish to email us to request for participation form via africanamericancentre@yahoo.com. The Basic Foundation Course in Agricultural Management is free; participants are to pay for training materials/tool kits only.
